About our concrete contractor business in Fremont

Fresh concrete driveway and sidewalk in front of a row of modern homes, bordered by green lawns.

From a city crew to Fremont driveways

I learned concrete on a city crew, pouring sidewalks, curbs and driveway approaches next to the inspectors who checked them on public streets. In 2020 I started Frontier Fremont Concrete Company here in Fremont to bring that same careful work to homeowners and property owners. Most people call us for driveways, patios, steps and sidewalks, and for slab and foundation work when they want someone who'll explain each step.

Those years on the street taught me that the parts you can't see decide how long concrete lasts. That counts here, because a city staff report on proposed code changes points to soils prone to liquefaction, corrosive soils and the nearby Hayward and Calaveras faults. So I'll take the time to answer your questions before anything gets poured, and no question is too small. When you're ready, call or send us a message.

Our values, as you'll see them on your job

Here's what working with us looks like from your side, from the first visit and the written estimate to the day you walk out on the new slab.

  • You deal with me from start to finish

I'm the one who comes out to look at the job and write the estimate, and I'm on site running the crew when the work happens. Your written estimate spells out what's included, so you can lay it next to other bids and see what you're paying for.

  • We dig out and pack the base

We dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, and set rebar, the steel that holds a slab together, where the job calls for it. It's the first thing people want to cut because nobody sees it on day one, and it's the last thing I'd cut, because a slab only holds up as well as what's under it.

  • Your site and street stay clean

We clean up as we go, so you're not stepping around form boards and leftover concrete while the job is underway. When we leave, your yard and the street out front look the way we found them.

Licensing, insurance and Fremont permit rules

  • Licensed and insured

Licensed and insured. You're welcome to ask about either one when I'm out for the estimate, before you sign anything.

  • Fremont business tax registration

The city won't schedule a final building inspection unless the contractor has a current Fremont business tax registration, so on permitted work it's worth asking any contractor about it up front. When your job needs a permit, we pull it through the city's Permit Center, set up the inspections and meet the inspector on site.
